From September 11th to 20th, the two of us, participants from Slovakia, travelled to the beautiful surroundings of Valea Doftanei in Romania as part of the Erasmus+ project Act Green. Together with participants from Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, and Italy, we focused on environmental protection and on how our everyday choices can contribute to a greener future.

We discussed environmental issues in our countries and explored the 4Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Refuse. The project was full of various team activities, games, and practical tasks, which helped us not only learn new things but also get to know each other better.

We also visited a local school, where we introduced the Erasmus+ programme to the students and told them about our project and the Act Green topic. Another interesting experience was visiting a centre where old computers and electronic devices are given a new life, showing that not everything we no longer need has to end up as waste.

In addition to gaining new knowledge, we had the opportunity to discover the local culture, explore the beauty of Romania, and, most importantly, meet people from different countries. We are therefore taking home from Erasmus not only new experiences and inspiration, but also many wonderful memories and new friendships that will remain an important part of this experience for a long time.
